Thinking of breaking my MR2... any advice please?

Post by Toptotz »

Hiya, I'm thinking of breaking my rev3 turbo t-bar, can anybody tell me how difficult this is likely to be & whether the list below will make it worthwhile instead of selling it for the only offer I've had of under £2k?

spec is as follows:

Bomex Rear Air Intakes. Bomex Wing Mirrors. Tein Rear Coil Overs. Bilstein Front Suspension. Forged Engine. Apexi Power FC. Apexi Boost Module Controller. 600mm Boot Mounted Intercooler. 850cc Sard Injectors. Samco Hoses. Carbon Fibre Air Defuser. Driftworks Magnetic Sump Bolt. HKS Spark Plugs. New Cam Belt and Fan Belt. Bride Original MR2 Drivers Seat. Sparco Harness. Carbon Fibre Adjustable Spoiler. New Battery 5 year Warrenty. Run on Castrol Edge Oil. Strut Braces. Crystal Front Lights. Momo Steering Wheel & Shift. Apexi Air Filter. XTD 6 Puck Clutch. Fradenza Fly Wheel. . Braided Oil Lines. HKS SQ Dump Valve. GTC Oil Cooler & Relocation Kit. Red Stuff EBC Pads. Grooved Discs. T04 Turbo. T04 SW20 Manifold. De- Cat Downpipe. Screamer pipe. External Wastegate. Apexi Data Logic. Oil Catch Can. Carbon Fibre Door Cards. Auto Gauge Oil & Boost. Sparco Light Weight 16" Alloys. Toyo R888 Tyres. FIA Electric Cut Off. FIA Fire System. Departure 2 Exhaust. Vented Boot Lid. Fibre Glass 355 Engine Cover. Apexi Fuel Computer. Apexi RSM. Clifford Cat 1 Alarm Immobiliser. Also Comes with:40 Shot Nitrous Oxide Wet Kit, Rear Centre Defuser, Front Fog Lights, Spare Nitrous Oxide Bottle Painted White, Front Pads, T Bar Covers.

Also, what are the legalities of doing this if anyone knows please?

Worth significantly more in bits if you have the facility and patience to break it.
If you can't see the angle, you're in trouble.

If you do choose to break it be upfront about the engine, afterall you know it has issues.

Possibly interested in the wheels here :)

Whereabouts do you live in the uk?

You'll be able to sell all the parts on here, as long as you are not Tyrant.

I'll get some taken & post them if I can work out how to get the picture size small enough, otherwise I can email them if you give me your email address :)

Yeah there's a lot of good parts there that I'd certainly be interested in. It's a shame you can't get it sorted as she'd be a sweet ride with that spec.

No, if I break it or sell it I will advertise it properly but as I don't know the first thing about breaking cars & need to get some idea of what's saleable & for roughly how much before I let it go to a dealer for a pittance .

Not sure it's something I want to take on but £1800 seems a little on the low side for the spec it's got :(

My advice is not to post the exactly same thread in a different section to get more audience. That is all.

Other than that, nice car.

Iam guessing aslong as you remove your Air-con gas, Engine oil and anti freeze in the environmentally friendly way i cant see there being any problems

Just remember there rules & laws which garages have to stick to...same would be for you.

Thanks, I was fairly sure there would be some rules & regs involved & hadn't even considered the likes of the air con! :)
