Heads up - cheap ignition coils on Rockauto.com

Post by Marf »

Looks like they are clearing out all their old stock

Coil's are going for £18+delivery which works out at another £18. Just over 1/2 the price of a coil at Camskill.

Edit: Looking at the site now, hmmm doesn't make it too clear.

And I assume the OEM supplier is Denso? Still, at £36 delivered, it might be worth a punt as I think my coil might be slightly cracked.

Ugh... this site is far from useable...

Do you go Toyota -> year -> MR2 -> Ignition ? or "MR2 NATO" ?

I'm assuming for rev2 i should order 1992 coil ?
Current: 2007 Porsche Cayman S
Gone: '94 rev3 NA, '92 rev2 Turbo forged, '07 Civic Type-R

They list two for Import MR2s, £35 and £40, neither explicitly state turbo or give equivalent manufacturer part numbers

This is the Rev3 item on Rockauto

Is this suitable for rev 3 turbo? Does the n/a and turbo coil differ at all

Has anyone fitted one of these yet? Does it work ok on a rev 3 turbo? I think my old crusty coil could do with replacing.

EDIT -
From looking at the equivalent Toyota part no. (90919-02185) It seems that this is a rev 1 coil as it is for 7mm ignition leads. The part no. for 5mm leads is 90919-02197.
