[Mk2] [NA] factory immobiliser Problems !!!

Post by modgod »

hi having a mare with the factory immobiliser mk2 rev2 92, its got a mind of its own loads of problems with it, for instance it'll only deactivate once you turn the stereo on, never done this before until yesterday, too many probs to list with it sometimes its as sweet as anything get in the car starts straight away other times like this morning i sat in the car for 30 mins flicking various switches just to get it started in the end i accidently locked the door as i was opening it and when i closed the door the light went off and oomph it bloody started, anyone know how i can just disconnect it i.e cutting a few wires and bridging some together anything like that i can do, any advice would be a great help ](*,)

Factory immobilisers were only fitted on revision 4+ cars (96 onwards), and only to UK cars. Whatever your problem is - it's not that!

That's the alarm. It doesn't affect your ability to run the car.

try holding down both buttons on your keyfob for a few seconds (pointing at the cars of course!), this re-pairs the fob with your car - seemed to do the trick when mine went a bit loopy! :thumleft:
