Are NGK PFR6A plugs ok in a turbo?

Post by Trevmr2 »

Hi all, hopefully someone can answer a few questions I have please!

Just bought a Rev2 turbo and have checked the plugs which are PFR6A 11 gapped at 26 thou (0.65mm).

The correct plugs are BKR6EP I think, so should I change them or leave what's there, it runs fine and never misses a beat.

The car is running 1 bar, and I was told it has an ecu chip (how do you confirm that?) and has a fcd on the ecu.

Futsibo (?) exhaust, but looks like it still has a cat on it, are they difficult to remove and how much benefit is there?

Fuel filter looks old as the hills, is it the same filter as the normally aspirated?

Thanks!

I use PFR7B which are the grade cooler platinum plugs and I have no problems.

Its up to you realy, most people here use the BKR copper series but i'd rather use platinum plugs as the oe plugs are platinum and I have a chargecooler in the way so i'd rather not have to remove that ever 3000 miles with the copper plugs.
