Unfortunately for sale is my 1999 Revision 5 UK Toyota MR2, I have owned this MR2 for a year and ran it alongside my other MR2, but now I can justify having 2 MR2's aswell as other cars, so now its time to sell.

This is a genuine UK car, which was painted in 3L1 Mica Orange from the factory; it is NOT an aftermarket re-spray.

Mica Orange MR2's are so rare, rare enough that in 8 years of MR2 ownership and after visiting plenty of national events I have never seen a Mica orange MR2 in the flesh, so when this one came up for sale local to me I had to buy it.

Being a revision 5 it includes as standard, equipment such as:

· 4 wheel ABS

· Drivers airbag

· 15 5 spoke rev 5 alloy wheels

· Red stitched gear knob

· Red stitched steering wheel

· Red detailed instrument cluster

· Adjustable rear spoiler

· Clear front indicators

· Standard Alarm/immobiliser including remote central locking

Just to mention the other standard mr2 equipment:

· Electric wing mirrors

· Electric windows

· Standard Toyota double din stereo

· Front fog lamps

· Removable moon roof

(stores in the front boot above the spare wheel)

This one is a very clean and totally standard unmolested example, during my ownership I have sorted out the little niggles that its gained in its 12 year life, these include:

· Front top mounts replaced

all is nice and tight now, no knocking

· Front Brake pads replaced

· All calipers stripped, cleaned and greased using special high temp silicone grease

· Replacement gear gaiter, black leather with red stitching

· The rear edge of the sills were replaced by the previous owner, this is a common rot area on the mr2 mk2, however the paint work was not great, so I had the sills completely stone-chipped

(as per UK spec), primer'd, repainted in 3L1, then lacquered.

· The car has been under sealed throughout all 4 under arches, including the main under body, and also the length of the jacking points on the sills

· Wheels have been re-painted as they were corroded under the lacquer

· I've changed the cambelt, as it was overdue

· Just been serviced: new air filter, oil filter, Castrol 10w40 GTX magnatec oil

· Replacement Carpet on the drivers side, due to wear on the heel points near the accelerator pedal

· The cars had a 5 stage machine polish/paint correction, to take out any paint contamination and swirl marks, finished with Autoglym SRP then Autoglym HD wax, it looks fantastic now
Interior
Inside is very clean with no modifications for extra gauges/phone holders etc; it is totally standard barring the gear gaiter that is a genuine leather replacement with red stitching to complement the factory red stitched gear knob.

The seats are in great condition, there are no rips or tears to either seats and both seats adjust as they should, with the drivers also having lumbar support, again functioning correctly.

There are also no cracks to any of the plastic trim, which is also common on the mr2.

All interior trim is present and correct, including the moonroofs blind
Exterior
Painted in 3L1 Orange Mica the exterior is in very good condition, it is by no means

mint or at a show standard, but it is very presentable.

The paint in silky smooth to the touch after its benefit of the machine polish and the shine is very deep bringing out the metal flake from the metallic orange.

Being 12 years old and covering average mileage each year, there is the odd stone chip, plus other tiny un-noticeable blemishes, being honest it has also gained as far as I can see several small parking dings

(you know the type!), that are pretty much only visible when looking from the right angle and under certain light.

There are no external modifications to the car.
Engine
& Transmission
It has the standard 3SGE 2.0 16 valve engine with no additional modifications what so ever, its mated to the standard 5 speed box.

The engine doesnt suffer from any abnormal noises, it doesnt smoke, burn oil or lose coolant, it revs smoothly in all gears and throughout the rev range without hesitation or misfire.

The exhaust is also standard and it is not blowing/leaking from any part of the system.

The gearbox is also smooth and tight with no nasty noises/whining and engages gears crisply with no crunching.

The biting point of the clutch pedal is also where it should be, ie: in the middle, it doesnt slip and holds the power well.

There are no abnormal warning lights showing on the dash while the engines running, Ive also checked for error codes, to which there are none

Brakes
There are no issues with the brakes at all, this is a common area for fail on the MR2 including sticking pistons and sticking slider pins, fortunately this car doesnt suffer from either.

The rear calipers were replaced last year as well as the handbrake cables, the front calipers are nice and free with no binding, up front it is also wearing brand new pads.

Because the brakes are such a common failure point on the MR2, while Ive been doing the various work Ive took the time to dismantle and check each brake caliper for binding and while I was doing that Ive re-greased with high temp silicone grease to ensure the brakes stay in good working order for miles to come.

The ABS works without fault, the ABS light illuminates prior to start-up, just as it should!
Suspension
The suspension is nice and tight with no abnormal noises, it is completely standard and the only thing that needed replacing were the front upper top mounts which were

knocking under full lock of the steering wheel.

Obviously now these have been replaced there are no further issues.
Chassis
Standard chassis with no additional under bracing or additional modifications, its been subject to an underseal to prevent possible future rust.
Security
Standard Toyota alarm/immobiliser with central locking/alarm keyfob, 3 keys included

The car has had 3 previous owners; the last had owned it for 8 years.

Documented are all the previous MOTs, The current V5 and also an old style V5, the service book is also included with stamps in it up until 2003, since then the previous owner told me there was a mixture of self service and also independent servicing.
