Whatever you do, don't write a list and try and stick to it. I did that with my car - it's currently over 50 items long and nowhere near being finished!

I'm just doing what I can John, the list is in my head! ;)

In no particular order:

1. bodyshop (in progress)
2. oil cooler (Tom's going to find a way)
3 brakes - done (once I get the pads)
4 underseal (wait until end of summer when I've got some money)
5 replace cracked dashboard (if I can ever find one)
6 rear parcel shelf (Tom, Mark, Neil on a birthday project for me. :) )
7 Aircon converted to R134A (hopefully in next month)
8 Have a stereo that has a working radio and is actually bearable to listen to (I wonder if I'll have one by winter!).
9 Rear and side decals. Once I know exact dimensions I can get someone to make them for me, thanks Danny for the pointer. :+:
10 Blong wheels (Still working on this one)

So there are doubtless a load of other things but I'll just keep plodding along. :+:

Substitute blong for 'bling' and you get the idea. :+:

Seems like it's needed a lot of work so far and youve got loads more to do.

How much do you think you've spent on it and it'll need before it's how you want it?

Back from the bodyshop and the AE86 is looking mint after all the minor body repairs have been done. Wonder what it's worth now? ;)

Well, it's a lot of cosmetic stuff really Mike, you have to remember it'll be 26 years old in September(!).

Reckon I've spent around £1.5K so far. Will likely spend about another grand, which will stand me in at around £8K. Reckon the car will be a £7K car at this point and at least then it won't lose any money and can only go up in value. :+:

Craig, Dale, have I missed something? The exterior is totally standard, thought you might have noticed that. ;)

I've always dreamed of owning an AE86 and wanted to restore one to original condition. Nothing wrong with some medium mods on the chassis and engine which it already came with. :+: It's a well sorted car, handling is great, why change it eh?

Tell you what though, I reckon there aren't many Trueno's around that are totally stock on the exterior, this is what will make it worth money in the future.

I do agree about the foglight though, absolutely hate it. Think what I'll likely do is remove it then just stick it back on for the MOT.

Only pullin' ya chain.

When you have gone on and on for years that mods are for mugs and calling anyone who polishes their car a GJOB'er.

And not to mention blong etc.

Then you turn into a GJOBing Modding hypocrite

LOL, well I do hope you noticed that a lot of my posts were  in cheek!

But in all seriousness there are people that spend more time polishing their car than driving it. Whilst like a lot of people I like my car to look good which means a clean car, I make sure I drive it too! :+:

Trouble is Craig, I've modified quite a few cars and if I'm honest I can't help myself. It's a mug's game as we all know, but obviously as long as you are planning to keep the car it's your money etc. :+

Am just trying to make my perfect AE86. Still loads to do, the list goes on... ;)

True, my MR2 isn't worth selling for what I'd get for it!
