Looks like a respray to me though (a VERY good & thorough one though).

Doesn't look like a respray to me, the engine bay is the same colour.

As it happens, it turned out to be the factory colour.
Although how for a UK car I'll never know!

Care to post a photo of the VIN plate? That'll put the whole thing to bed - would show factory colour and market.

Bottom line first section shows the colour code 3L1 and the JT1 start to the frame number denotes Europe/UK market, imports start SW20

Putting your Frame number into the Toyota EPC shows it was actually built in March 1998

some young lad has just crashed into my genuine mica orange rev 5 turbo airwalker body kit enkie rs 100 thousand mile. whats it worth he has smashed it to bits its going to be written off . where would i find a replacement . one of the wheels is square and has been pushed into the door . how many mica orange turbos left in the uk id say none

Total of 95 N/A. I (53 Coupes + 42 T/Bars)
Total of 26 TURBOS (22 Coupes + 4 T/Bars )
