Mark - Newcastle - 1991 n/a G-Limited

Post by MarkDon »

How do all,

Needed a runaround for work as the mrs is off on maternity now & has stolen the 307, browsing ebay for local cars under £600, saw this, thought, nahhh, thats going to go for more than that, stuck a bid in with 15mins to go & went out for a 15mile bike ride. Got home, realised i'd won \:D/

Always wanted one of these, especially in black, so chuffed.

Car has sebring backbox, blitz filter, koni adj shocks & 30mm springs, rev 3 rear lights & wheels. apart from that its standard. Got a folder full of recipts from 2003 onwards, totalling £5100 :-s so its had a fair bit thrown at it, inc engine rebuild in 2004 due to big end failure. Had various other bits done since then, drop links, coil, battery etc etc.

Mind its not perfect, and i wasnt expecting it to be for this money, its a pig to start in the morning, turning over & over without actually firing, never starts first time ](*,) But i'll get to the bottom of it, i hope. I'll stick a post in the tech section if anyone would like to offer any advice

Couple of pics...

I wouldnt go that far, tidy for 20 years old, waiting for the boss to go out of the garage at work so i can get it up on the ramps.

Knocking from o/s/f when turning wheel sometimes so im guessing top mount there, drop links dont look too bad from what ive seen, radiator looks very very holey.

Just been in the garage for a pre mot check (garage who deals with our work vans so not proper check, but up on ramps)

Verdict is....

i need....

Two tyres
poss o/s/f shock (no resistance) tried firming up ((adj koni's)) and better, but still knocking slightly over bumps, no play in top mount, drop links fine.
cancer bars (bloke said to remove these & put the bolts back into the holes for mot til i get them replaced)
drivers sill at the rear corner is a bit rough, could do with a repair panel, if they make them??

Bar that, oil coming from somewhere on engine, exhaust is blowing from a few joins (soon to be sorted), cold start issue & speedo issue, car is in really good nick for 20 years old!

Rad is fine, its the aircon rad infront thats wrecked. No air con so no loss.

Chuffed to bits
