Post by adz01 »

Hi all,

I'm Adam,

OK I'm new on here, I haven't got a Mr2 but I'm kinda hoping to buy one although all these insurance rises are making it a B**ch to insure,

I'm 22 year old guy and I was quoted 590 last year and now its 874!!! bloody England but hey!

anyway i though i'd have a butchers and see what y'all have to say :)

thanks all

Hi Adam,

What you looking to buy?

I have a rev1 N/A and I love it a bit too much!!

The turbo route is a no no if you are under 25 but you can still have plenty of smiles in an N/A (Naturally Aspirated or Non Turbo) I certainly do.

Where abouts are you located?

Hi matey,

tbh i'm thinking of going the v6 route or turbo, considering my 1.6 sc focus is 677 a year 874 seems reasonable and kinda looking gt spec (with leather) rev3+ with low (pre 70k) miles

i'm on the south coast, but appreciate the offer mate :)

Welcome matey, I wouldn't rule out a turbo!

I bought a non turbo 3SFE engined car (crap engine 120bhp)

Had a turbo engine fitted in 2004, and I would have been 22 then :thumleft:

Any questions, ask away! Enjoy the site, and all the best finding a nice car.

Personally, I'd be looking at a rev3+ Turbo 1994 onwards :thumleft:

yeah 874 was turbo, its just seemed a lot considering I had been waiting ages for my current insurance to drop which it finally did last year to £400,

Still kinda steals a lot of money from the "mod bank" :(

But I totally get what you mean about the thrill and fun of T-tops its just I don't wanna have to keep swapping cars, at least i can mod the turbo for more POWER!! thanks mate, hopefully join you guys if all goes well :)

lol, yeah i spose its ok but, i really love the 300zx z32s but i cant find a decent tt manual swb rare as rocking horse poo (tend to be overpriced too), so I figured I'd try and get the same amount of fun cheaper (economically, insurance and maintenance/mod wise)

the only thing that worries me guys is i'm too daring and push cars to their limit (helps me get to know the cars ability) and all this talk about mr2s being too front end light is an issue considering thats where the steering and 70% braking is......

No worries dude :thumleft:

£874 aint bad at all! That Fully comp? As for pushing the '2 to the limits, it's unforgiving if you lose the back end and hard to get it back.

Wet roads? Drive it like an 85 year old women and you wont go far wrong

Myself too, always wanted a 300zx but a ttop, never seen the right one that didn't have daft mods, so MR2 was a bargain alternative and i'm loving it.

874 on a turbo is great, i'm 36 and pay £350 on a na import...
