New Rear quarter panels from Alfaparts.. Group buy?

Post by Damen »

I emailed them last week asking for shipping costs and got an email back;

Shipping would be $250. to your nearest airport. Why don't you get together with the other folks who need these panels. This is the 3rd identical request from the U.K. in the last 2 weeks. I can also ship 3 pairs for $250. Thank you, Allen Hall

So these panels (as I'm sure everyone is aware are $275 each) but with such a strong dollar at the moment surely this would be a great time to buy?!

Is anyone interested, my rear arches are just starting to go and I reckon getting these fitted and sprayed might be jsut as economical as getting the old 'badly designed' ones repaired without the chance of rust re-occuring?!

Just a thought! :)

Damen, a rear quater replacement is a MUCH bigger job than a wheelarch.
You are right about it being a proper job, but to my mind the money saved by getting the panels that way is going to be a drop in the ocean as far as the total cost of the total repair goes. Not only that how good are the panels? If there not absoultely spot on the body shop will have to spend time fiddling to get em just so, and it will be you that has to pay for there time.
Don't want to put a downer on the whole idea, but thats my two pennies worth.

A set of repair section (3 per side) cost £310 including shipping. I literally had a set delivered last week.

Though doing the whole panel is nice in some respects it is also more work so labour will go up.

Also the cost is likley to be £500ish for the pair buy the time you have cleared customs etc so only those that are pretty serious are going to be able to do it.

Has anybody bought these replacement panels?
I'm interested in knowing how good the fit is.
