I have in my car

Vibe SEK50 Woofers/Tweeters in the front
12" JBL sub behind the passenger seat running of a 300w amp

This is ample for most things, though I will at some point be fitting crossovers to the front speakers and possibly a small amp.

I don't see the need for upgrading the rear speakers. I put some sony 2 ways in tehre and ended up disconnecting them. I found they brought nothing to the overall quality of the sound.

I have a set of Rainbow SLX265's powered by a Rainbow iPaul 300.4, no sub.

Unless you want to be able to feel the low frequencies, a setup like that is perfect for a small cabin like the MR2.

Fair point. My components put out a decent amount of bass, but yeah I like to feel the worbworbworb from my sub :afro:

I do miss feeling the LF's sometimes, but for me I would rather have the space behind the seats for the T-Bars, especially if my euro road trip goes ahead this summer!

It does help running the 300.4 bridged, up to 270wRMS a channel
