I don't like the Bride seat. It might be all the fashion but I don't think it's a patch on the Recaro I had in my DC2. I just don't find it that comfortable there is no bum padding and I can't seem to get a good driving position with it.

Was thinking, the other option with the Bride seat is that maybe I can replace the seat cushion? It is a solid GRP base so it's not a springy seat, but a new cushion could make it a whole lot more comfortable. Sizewise it is a good fit for me, it certainly is made with Japanese dimensions which is good for me. Support wise it's fine everywhere, just need a bit more bum support, so maybe it's an option.

Something to look into, might be easier to get one made up rather than source one. I have seen the bride fabric available for sale.

Alternatively, get lucky and source a secondhand one

In other news, I got to drive the car for the first time in the rain today. Roads were pretty greasy after such a long dry spell.

Well, any accelerating midway round a roundabout and the rear slides away. To be fair it's easy to catch and you can hold it (on bigger roundabouts). What was interesting is that after a little provoking mid roundabout, I came off the roundabout and accelerated fairly gently (well I didn't floor it or anything) and the back stepped out again, which I was a little surprised by.

So it needs respect in the wet as it slides way easier than say an SC with an LSD as there's much less weight over the rear. Still, I'll tread fairly carefully and try my very best to behave, which I admit is hard. I just love getting a feel for the handling and it's kind of cool that you can drift it at 20/25mph!

But, today was nothing I couldn't explain away I reckon.

Mark has had a good look at the seat and it turns out that some of the support webbing for the base has come away, so the bottom of the seat isn't really supporting the seat cushion as it ought to. This would explain it being a bit firm on the backside. Might look into getting it repaired (if I can) as it probably would be a really good seat.

It looks like it's pretty old, though has worn well. There are a lot of fake ones around. Looking at the car, reckon most of the mods must be getting on for ten years old, so we think it might be a real Bride, but obviously it becomes nigh on impossible to tell.

Yeah, that kind of thing, or explain that it was the first time I have driven the car in the wet and well, sorry, but I thought the best thing I could do was control the slide and drive out of it safely. Handles lovely officer.

Last time I got pulled over was in 2005, in my MK1a. I outrun a riot van for about 3 miles. When I eventually let them catch up, they went all hardcore on me. It took me time to get the copper to admit that his riot van would handle like a bucket of crap and there is no way it would be able to keep up with me on roundabouts.

Yeah, it really does sound great in the car near the redline, so am expecting to find some goodies. Looks like whoever tuned it put decent parts on, though the ECU is probably going to be really good or a bit bad, doubt we can do much with it, but we'll see. If it is fine on fueling and produces good power then I'll leave it alone as it's quick enough to be fair. It's very smooth too.

It does make you wonder whether or not the head and bottom end are stock. Mark thinks it might have a lightened flywheel. It's been fun for sure, just enjoying re-aquainting myself with RWD, very much enjoyed the rain today.

Is it not a common complaint that the seats in the ITR are too small? I'm sure I've seen that before! You are tiny so you'd suit seats that us pie munchers would consider too small, and vice versa?
