piston compression ratio

hello all!
getting my forged pistons soon and jus wondered what compression ratio i should go for?
i have a gt3071r turbo, hks 264 cams, 800cc side feeds, rmr inlet manifold and want to make around 400bhp! rev2!
recomendations cheers!

Up to how you want to build it really. Everyone has their own views.

I'd personally say go with 9.0:1 but the next person may recommend 8.0:1 ..

just have this niggling thought that if I rip out the wiring, then the car will never get out of the garage again.

Base it on a known good specification id say, at least you stand a good chance of achieving what you want rather than trying to guesstimate it. :thumleft:

You have to design the engine to start with. Once all that work is done it will come up with the c/r you will need.
You cannot just pick a number out of the air and no two engine designs will be the same so any information you get here will just be guessing.

If you are going to run on road fuel with stock revs then 8.0:1 will be on the high side of what you need
