Changed my Coolant

Post by Boddney »

Well I did it. I changed my coolant. It was the last job on the list for road worthyness.
I was really worried about doing this job after all to stories of air locks and bouncing idleing but I had my secret weapon by my side-- Mr Jimi Lawson.
Thanks very much for the write up on your web site page sir, I could'nt have done it without ya.
It all went as it should have with all the back flushes I could muster and no air locks.
Am I happy? Was JD Hogg a short fat bloke?

Excellent, well done
I'm glad you found it useful and it worked well for you. :D
I sometimes wonder if anyone ever reads/uses the info I put up on my web site, but if it helps one person then it's worthwhile 8)

I was exactly the same the first time I did it, had to change the radiator as well and wasn't looking forward to it.
After reading various methods, I ended up using Mr T's BGB method with a couple of alterations, it worked well so I wrote it up, used it many times since on various MK1's (and a couple of MK2's  ) and it hasn't let me down yet :thumleft:

Too modest Jimi, I for one can never really explain well enough how to do stuff that I can do, so I always point people towards your excellent site :thumleft:

I read it alot Jimi, I also have it as a toolbar favourite same as Limey.
Keep doing it, it's kind of a to do list for me but the real work has to be done first before I start "Jimi Modding".
I have also done your sleepy eye mod and will probably do the auto windows mod one day, and when that day comes you will be sat there on the work bench in the garage for quick checks along the way.
