[Mk2] [Turbo] Power Window Switch

Hi all! I'm kind of concused as to where the problem is with my power window switch on the driver's side. The problem is that when you are on the driver's side, the switch for the passenger window doesn't work, but it works from the passenger side switch. I thought that maybe the switch was faulty, but I took one from my old MR2 turbo, and the same thing. Any ideas?

You need to remove the door card and inspect the loom for broken wires, tracing back from the switch in question...are all the 3 plugs , that lead from the door to the drivers footwell, in place?
It's more than likely the switch wires though, as power is getting to the window...just think of the switch wire(s) as 1 big loop with the switch connecting/disconnecting them to make/break the circuit.
Also look at the connectors that the switch block plugs into, my t-bar leaks and drips right onto that switch, so there may be some corrosion in that area.
Worst case scenario...you will need to run 2 new wires from the switch to the footwell and just snip/twist onto the loom ...near the connectors.

Good post from djpkins, this should solve your problem. My drivers window required me to rock the switch back and forth before it would go up caused by loose connection to the switch. People closing the door for 20 years had wobbled it loose.
