if its aftermarket (the stereo) are you sure the remote 12v power wire that will operate the aerial is connected properly

yes mate coming off the cd player, it will be the same 12v switch on as used to switch on amps etc (some stereos have sep ones), if you are not sure what one it is if its not labelled then get a multimeter and check the wires, it will be 0v when the stereo is off and 12v (or there abouts) when its switched on. :thumleft:

is it the pink with blue stripe wire i need to wire up to the blue wire? im so confused is there a few wires i need to wire up?

i have no idea and can not find anything on google,

nothing on my wires to the aerial is wired up, so i need a basic guide on how to wire it up. such as connect red to blue sort of thing.

turn on the head unit...ensure ariel is wired in! then touch your remote output on the wires till it goes up....be sure you don't touch onto a ground or live. these are usualy pretty obvious as are red and black. that's how I did it. if your not confident (i don't want you to blame me if you break it) his POP down to your local In car entertainment shop. they will prob have a look for nothing.

theres 3 wires that need connecting for the aerial to work i think. one is defo the blue one. i think the other two are live and ignition live.

i think there is a pdf posted in this post (http://www.imoc.co.uk/forums/viewtopic. ... ght=aerial) that explains a lot. there may be a sticker on the bottom of your head unit explaining the wire colours, or google your head units serial number.

hope this helps

Before you go poking wires together willy nilly make sure your head unit is protected - there should be a little blade fuse in the back of it - also just get yourself an inline fuse holder and temp. connect it between the two wires you are trying - the cost of a blown inline fuse pennies the cost of repairing / replacing your head unit £'s?

all modern head units should have a blade type fuse in them. did you have this unit pro fitted? I don't like the look of those chock blocks, they should be crimps!
tell ya what I will go and pull my unit out an sort this thread out for you. gimmie bout half hour, will post pix

Image

what brand is your unit? first of all we need to identify your antena/remote/lights lead!
mine is written on the wire!

you can clearly see the blue wire(no white stripe) is the little monkey u want....(for import rev1 turbo)
Image

this picture shows the arial wired in....trust me u only need the blue one attached behind unit as the ariel gets it power from the rear loom!
Image

tell me which head unit brand you are using and I will find out which lead colour your antenna out put is :thumleft:

have fun
