Public weigh bridges - List for Oxfordshire

Post by steve b »

Took several emails to various departments of the county council to get a list of public weigh bridges, addresses, charges, opening times etc so thought i'd post them so that anyone in the area can get their car weighed if they so wish :)

Good stuff! I'm taking it you are going to get your car weighed then? remember do it with a full tank of fuel as that way you can account for how much the fuel weighs. It would be interesting to get some more data on car weights and various revisions etc. I would certainly like to see a definitive table for all the different type of MR2s:

MK1:

85/86 coupe

87+
t-bar
coupe
SC t-bar
SC tintop

MK2

t-bar
coupe
tubby t-bar
tubby coupe
tintop

then all revisions etc as well.

bet ya didnt know that that weight includes 4 passengers rated at 180 lbs each? Factory standard for weight quotes - confuses things a little!

This is exactly the reason why we should get out to the public weigh bridges so we have ACTUAL figures. I want to get mine done hence obtaining the list :D Also my car is unique :D

Need to go to the ones that are in 10KG increments 20KG is a lot of variation.

My car should be very light as turbos go :D

Short single exit pipe
No aircon
No ABS
Light weight TOM'S 16" rims
Steel Heat shields replaced with aluminised barrier
No spare tyre
No Metal support for spare tyre
No plastic cowling
No boot lining
Coilovers
No T-Bar (sunroof)
Induction kit

:D
