[Mk2] [Generic] How to check 'genuine' bodykits?

Post by Delgado-Go! »

So I finally got enough chrimbo cash to treat the old girl. So a body kit is in order!

Thinking Toms or Border. Read the stuff on IBK :pale: and a few others.

Seems like the best ones still in production are Rogues stuff or of course waiting for the real deal. I'm gonna scout Fleabay and the for sale sections here but how do I know if a kit is genuine?

Theres some Toms for sale on here but dunno what make so presumably can't tell fitment without it??

Where would I look to check for:

Genuine Toms/Border
Genuine from Rogue
Genuine from Neos
Genuine from staffsmr2kits

I'm assuming they're like clothes - some sort of 'clothes tag' err, stanp, hallmark or somink.

Check the link above for some skirts that were sold on here a little while ago.

Dunno about the others you've listed but would be interesting to know to not get ripped off in the future. :thumleft:

yeah as above, I believe there is a mark of authenticity on the inside of bumpers and skirts.

Autopista bumper and spoiler has "autopista" engraved into it etc.

Thanks guys. but what about the copies by other companies?

Do those guys do any thing to identify there products?

E.g u wouldnt want to pay £300 for neos or rogues if they were actually ibks!

I mean like off ebay or if buying a premoddec car.

Im your kan, ive seen many stamps and markings etc. Ask the seller to send pics of markings. Bomex will be black and white... or say bomex but with multicoloured letters spelling... bonnevile. Toms have either new or old style logos printed on paper with individual hand written serial numbers.
