>>NEW PICS<< 1993 Astral Black 300bhp Rev3 MR2 GTS Turbo Tin Top

Post by CardHore »

Hi people....

Regrettably now up for sale is my other half's (Anita) MR2 turbo... After much thought she has decided she isnt gonna have her own 'sports car' to roll around in for a while since we both share the diesel pug and it makes our financial situation a little easier to live with as its cheaper to run and share just the one car.

Some of you may remember her gleaming white Rev4 UK N/A T-Bar she sold last year. This car has been babied just as much as that one, although the condition of this turbo when purchased isn't really on par although it is 5 years older.

Without further delay, the spec as follows

(pics taken from my mobile and im not impressed)

Image

1993 Toyota MR2 GTS TinTop Turbo with 75k(ish) miles when worked out, fully UK converted inc rear fog and speedo now MPH and MPH faced. Fully operational Toad alarm system, 1 fob and 2 keys.

Taxed & MoT

Exterior:
Front bumper from a 3s-fe MR2 thus having the fogless look

Advan VS-6 16" Wheels wrapped in Falken 512's removed and resprayed in Satin by myself (a decent job)

All but front windows either factory or professionally tinted, no seams or cut lines.

Interior:

Leather interior from a UK car and in VGC for its age, no tears or holes.

Real carbon fibre sheet and genuine rare Kakimoto engraved plate on passenger side dash. This is currently covering 3 neatly cut 60mm gauge holes as the gauges were nasty I had to pull them out and bin them. Kept her happy!

Blitz talking Turbo timer!

TRD Nardi Wheel on display but I wanna keep hold of this as its rare and... I like rare things. I gifted it to her during her ownership of the car but the other wheel that was on it is sold so ill get another to put on it.

Nardi gear stick on display will be replaced with another unit as well.

Chassis:

Retaining standard Bilstein suspension units.

The brakes have been uprated with new grooved discs and EBC Yellow stuff pads all round covered around 1k miles

Engine:

3S-GTE Engine with CT20 Turbo fully mapped on an ABC SuperChip at 1.0 bar of boost

Blitz Sonic intake filter

Standard dump valve made atmospheric

Manual fuel pressure regulator setup with the map

Standard cat gutted into decat flowing through a full 3 inch Kakimoto Stainless Exhaust system.

Full cam belt, tensioners, bearings replaced and the head was re-shimmed to Toyota spec by Luke @ Pacific works last year at 98k on the odo

Due a service in the next few weeks which I will carry out, just an Oil and Filter ill do.

Bad Points?...

Mechanically its perfect but just before christmas someone took a light swipe with their car to the drivers door, the damage isnt that noticable but im picky and it doesnt bug me. It can easily be sorted at low cost by a bodyshop. The door is dented slightly near the bottom and has some scuffing as pictured.

Image

Only other fault is stone chips on the bonnet as pictured. The rest of the car is in good nick, no rust just some very light marks around the car and some touch ups here and there. Main markings are to the front bumper which again isnt that noticable.

Here are some vids showing in order... Start up from cold, hard acceleration and up-hill boosting from 3rd.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ydPBmqDEMes

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lpNHWwqM ... er&list=UL
(no its not clutch slip its wheelspin through 1st and second)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=53yfYSIgu1Q
(listen to that beautiful suction)

The engine is sweet and well maintained. No ticks, smoke or knocks and pulls quicker than my T020 which is running shy of 300BHP... This thing not long ago stayed on par with a new shape BMW M3 when I had the chance to drive it while Anita was out (tee hee).

This car will put a smile to anyones face.

Looking for £3200 ono

Hi there. How much MOT and tax is on the car? I'm about to check my finances. Would you be around this weekend to come and have a look at the car if my bank account allows me? lol.

Cheers. Omar

Watch this space people.... Theres gonna be a shed load of pictures put on here shortly. Is there a way I can bulk upload from PhotoBucket onto here?

All pictures will cover all the blemishes and perfections out and under the car. The car as you see it is literally how it looks after a wash, rinse and towel. The flash causes any blemishes to look worse than they are, for example and metal fittings and fixings under the car look bright orange with rust when its literally your normal light surface corrosion. Pictures of the scuff and light dent on the door are included and a dent and scratch on the sill.

Feedback welcome.

The majority of the scuff will polish out, I haven't even attempted it yet.
It looks worse than it is!

Now the underside: Note the light wet patch under the oil filter is oil that has sat from the last oil and filter change, gets wet, seeps over the cover etc etc. No leaks here I promise! However there is an oil sandwhich plate with an electronic oil pressure sensor which wires up to the dash but has been isolated from use as the previous gauges were more tack than a poorly body kitted Nova.

NOTE THE BRAND NEW FLEXI SECTION HERE... (forgot to mention!)

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Small wet patch thats just been there since I had it serviced last year.
Image

Rev3 Standard steeing wheel put on!! (TOM'S gearknob not included but I think ill include the uber rare Nardi knob pictured in first pics as a goodwill gesture for any picky people)

Image

Engine bay... Clean as a whistle. No leaks, considering Luke @ Pacific works practically re-built the top end I shouldnt think so. The head cover was painted by myself before that. This engine does not make the slightest tappety sound, it runs unlike any other engine ive heard. Luke done a good job re-shimming the buckets!

Image

Image

Fuel pressure regulator, unsure if its anything special? Never seen it before.

Image

ABC Superchip access in the boot, never seen this before either but man this car is mapped to perfection, it runs perfectly and will pull your skin off your face. Never fails to excite Anita when im behind the wheel :)
I have an old RR readout but it reads 256bhp... which is deffo not what it is now. Its easy on the 300BHP mark as its quicker than mine.

Image

Panel check time!

Image

Image

Couple of cheeky smiles from the current owner

Image

Image

Look hard and you will see a touch up mark....
Image

Image

Image

Some marks here too....
Image

Image

Image

Image

This corner has a few hard to notice bush marks that will come out after a good buff. You wont see it here, literally surface stuff.
Image

You can see marks on this corner, also the edge closest to the wheel has had touch up work hence the lack of gloss in that area.
Image

Some noticeable laquer peel here on the corner of the lip...
Image

and a crud quality show case video lol....

Tax runs out 29th Feb 2011
MoT Expires on 15th April 2011

Please call me to enquire or arrange a viewing. Again the car is mechanically perfect in every way, just some blemishes around the body that doesn't make it 'mint'

How on earth have you got away with those front windows, they look waaaay past the legal limit?

Good work on the sale though, Dom, there's a lot of Germans buying from England at the moment, is it to do with the modification laws over there?

They look limo black but assured they are not too tinted. They look factory.

Hmm, mine were factory and you could hardly see they were tinted, especially in relation to the rears which were limo tinted.

Doesnt matter seeing as you're selling it, but if you were keeping it I'd be asking at a window place to test it for peice of mind.

Looks cool though :thumleft:
