I have heard mixed reviews over the years about the MKI MR2 Prothane Urethane Bushings from Twos R Us (USA) and wandered are they worth the £93 delivered cost or could that money be spent on new Toyota Drop links?

+1, best mod by far, even just doing the front makes a big difference to 20 year old rubber bushes.
Also why spend all that money on droplinks when ford escort ones can do the same job once shortened for the rear and rotated for the front. And they cost less then £20 for all 4.
I personally found the Prothane bushes very hard and more prone to wear than Superflex. Well worth doing in general but would advise Superflex unless you need them for track work.
'scuze the ignorance, but what are droplinks, and if they are a metal rod type affair, why do they need pre-emptively re-placing? Never had em on my other motors...

Drop links join the suspension strut to the antiroll bar.
Most cars have them, but the MR2 does appear to go through them
I was lucky to get some as new ones for my front and rear ant-roll bars, big difference. Im sure if you go that route or just standard rubbers they would be better than the 20 year old bushes you already have on your car.
Sorry to hi-jack. I've now bought new springs and shocks and I'm thinking I might as well do all the bushes at the same time.
Which kit is best, and where can I buy it? Looked on TwosRUs US and it says contact SBITS. But I cant find any other details. TwosRUs UK dont seem to stock them anymore. What are the ones from Fensport like?
The ones from Fensprout are probably the best quality of the bunch (although I've not bought a full kit from them)
TwosRus USA will happily sell you a set, just ignore the suggestion to buy them at twosrus UK. You'll get them quicker from the States too.
Sbits are no longer part of twosRus.co.uk which is now under new management and stocks genuine Toyota parts at reasonable prices it also has no connection with Twos R Us.com
Well got the car back from garage after having them fitted. Cost £210 in Labour So they better be worth it. Apparently the other garages could hear the mechanics swearing while trying to remove the old original ones since apparently they where fairly well attached to the car.
I've just done the upgrade on my car and the suspension is way harder now. Had to adjust my koni's down a lot cause it was just to uncomfortable.
While picking up my SC last weekend in london I did notice UK roads are WAY better than Belgian roads, so it might not be a big problem for you.

MR Peter Gibbon told be to burn them out. Worked a treat!

Noting worng with that. You set your Konis up to work with perished soft rubber, so no suprise that they need adjusting. Anybody runnung stock dampers will not notice a harsh ride
I made a clamp to push the old bushes out with some threaded bar and different size sockets. The hardest ones to get out are the rear strut bar bolts as they use a metal sleeve that welds itself to the bolt over the years. Took hours to get mine out which were done by Tom at the first classic restoration show imoc attended many moons back.
I have my Koni's on full soft now as our roads are rubbish.

Belgium must be mostly dirt tracks then - the rounds around here are nearly all terrible - it is a pleasure to ride on some new smooth tarmac!
So what ARE they actually for...??
They're listed as MR2 Mk3 (that'll be the roadster)...years 1991-95 (that'll be a Mk2, then?) ...then the description says they're suitable for the Mk1 (84-89).....??
I have just bought a set of rears for a very good price, genuine toyota ones.
I did try fitting the mk2 19dia arb to mine but found the holes are important to line up with the bracket needed to fit around the bush which is gay.
I will be getting superflex front and rear bushes for my ARBS at the end of the month tho
