Gauging Interest: Rev1 MR2 Turbo T-bar 1989

Post by loudandproud205 »

Pretty much gauging interest for interest on my MR2 turbo, it's been a loyal steed and never failed to start EVER and coming from french cars it was a a bit strange

Now the car is not with out fault's so I wont waste your time listing all the good bits first.
Main thing is it needs a clutch change, I believe the pressure plate has failed all gears can be engaged without the engine running.

It had an accident in November 2009 which I hit a barrier on the A1 cause side impact damage, I have replaced the bumper wing and door but the wing and door are a different shade of red.

And the bumper is a Bomex style bumper in grey/silver

Car has been striped internally leaving only the seats but grip tape has been fitted to stop feet slipping. (Did have the full interior but it got left outside and is now ruined from the snow)

Faded red paint

Speedo dont work, but it never has, clocks read 160k (presume its still in km's as the dials havn't been changed)

Not so bad bit's

Rev1 turbo engine pulls well (de limited)
Toad cat1 alarm with remote central locking
Lowered
rev2+ brake upgrade with mintex pads
Manual boost controller (never been above 1bar)
hks power filter
decat
5zegin single exit exhaust system from cat back
Auto gauge boost gauge
Fog lamp located to the drivers side reverse lamp so no nasty hang down light
twin head lamp conversion
rev4+ clear indicators
Quickshift (unfitted)
Polyflex tie bar bushes (unfitted)

Choice of wheels
16" enkei racing s split rims
15" 5 spoke split rims with bridgstone tires, R888's (unfitted but would be included with 15" wheels)

MOT till End of Aug/Sept

Only the standard comments on any MR2 that isnt near perfect or has some kind of mechanical issue, to get the most money break it, to sell the car as a whole expect to get must less that you'd hoped for.

I sold my semi standard rev1 turbo with nice paintwork a 6 months ago for £1100 with some mods, he then sold it on after a few months for £750.

I would guess that you would be hard pushed to get £250 with no interior and with the clutch and paintwork issues, which is probably the same as you would get for selling the engine on its own.

Why you selling it, need the space, dont want to fix it, need the money?

You could get yourself a good condition n/a or turbo shell and swop the bits after, fixing the clutch problem while your at it.
We ALL make mistakes !!! :)
