Just a load of hype - look at any game forum on Xbox and you will find numerous "ZOMG x game just red ringed my 360 - dont play it" for pretty much any game title - its just bad luck.

I hope they have now solved the issue with the slim, would be plain stupid if they didnt and just removed the RROD but allowed machines to fail at the same rate, as its only going to land them with another court action.

If there's any truth in it at all then the only possible way I can see the kinect causing RROD failures is that it's increasing the load on the CPU to the point where it overheats. I remember reading somewhere that Kinect has something like a 30% CPU overhead to process everything, but none of the games I've seen so far look like they're pushing any boundaries.

Incidentally, I've been massively impressed with my Kinect. It's a game changer for sure.

Had my kinect sometime now and no RROD as of yet and kids are always on it. Just a lot of scaremongery i think.
