I remember seeing a gold plated Toyota logo badge on the front of a mk2 MR2 and the owner telling me it was a special edition car.

tbh it was a long time ago '96 I think, yeah about a year before I bought my rev1 turbo.
He showed me around the car and convinced me I should buy one, did me a big favour I reckon. I still have the turbo but now I have an AE86 to keep it company.
His I'm sure was a U.K car and the badge looked lovely on, as I remember dark blue paint.

The guy on Dragons Den a few years back was apparenly doing gold Toyota badges -allot of them are very thin gold plated. To be honest everyone I know which has seen them either knows a pub landlord or the owner of a curry house which has gone to the effort of putting them on. Sorry not my taste (they're chuffin horrid) but they're out there. There was never a genuine gold Toyota badge despite what allot of folk seem to say.

Back in the Ninties lexus and toyota shared the same garage's and the exact same parts stores I worked at one of these for 7 years the Newcastle Toyota Lexus dealer ( they are the same company!!) it wasnt till the late 90's they requested seperate dealers..

Most of the toyota/lexus accsessories where availible on both marks
gold badges included these where availible for toyotas in gold chrome MR2's included we've seen plenty of imports with gold badges

there's plenty of toyota MR2 accsessories that we have never seen, then all of a sudden something pops up gold chrome badges where all the rage in the 90's

have you been on the mr2 scene long??
