flocking

Post by kennym »

OK so this is not an attack on anyone, we're all differant & thats a good thing.....

now i'm a clean freak I'm a car trader & if a car needs it all the seats & carpets come out for a steem clean ....the valeter uses a toothbrush under the bonnets of all our cars....

so my track car is being built to a high standard, clean, neat with good gear & a high standard of finish,....

but to me a flocked dash is very nice to look at but adds nothing (dont tell me about anti glare......BAAA) track cars are functional so anything that doesn't add something is a passanger.... same as door cards (ok these might cover sharp edges) & shinny chequer plate flooring....ok if thats your thing.... but to me its not nessasary......

view welcome.....

P.S you can all slag me of when you see my build thread & it becomes clear i've caved in to prettyness......LOL

yeah thats a great retort & sound argument..... if your 12,...... wrc car's dont have standard dashes with flocking on them they have purpose made light wieght dashes, there flocked cos its easy light and perfect for anti glare,........ non of these reassons are really valid for standard dash's.....if your gonna get it done at least HAVE THE GOOD GRACE TO ADMIT ITS FOR COSMETIC REASSONS,.....

i'm not saying dont do it ......as i said before each to there own I do think it would look good on a road car,........but coming up with a reasson like "wrc cars have them" sounds a bit.......well........ silly

friendly ? sure.

i only posted up as i found somewhere cheap to flock dashboards, everyone is entitled to their opinion, i think it looks great but due to it not wearing well on the centre tunnel i wont be getting mine done.

one thing confuses me, in your 1st post you mentioned that you're not a fan but whats that got to do with cleaning cars with a toothbrush :?:

why the attack? as far as i can see your the one who has started this argument in what was otherwise a good and meaningful thread, comments like good if your 12 is just going to get peoples backs up, no need what so ever [-X
