nah.

That photo is of a 1982 Lancia 037 group B rally car. They used a Lancia 4 pot 16v supercharged & turbo charged unit.

The Stratos used the V6 Dino engine.

Can you not identify it from the engine number? :)

This is a Lampredi designed V6 from a Fiat 130 coupe, not a Ferrari engine I'm afraid. They came in 2.8 and 3.2 with either 140bhp or a maximum of 165bhp.

To get anywhere near the 280bhp you've been quoted you'll be looking for a quad cam V6 from a Ferrari Dino = mega bucks!! Cars go for £100k plus so you can imagine the engines ain't cheap.
If you must have a Ferrari badge under the bonnet then your best option would probably be the V8 from a Lancia Thema 8.32, but even then this 3.0 'only' puts out 212bhp (barely anymore than a 3VZFE).
Sorry fella hope it doesn't owe you too much.

It does seem odd you want an engine in your car that promotes your company but don't even know what engine it is. :-k

In his defence he was told it was a 3.2ltr V6 Ferrari lump revving to 9k and pumping out 280bhp. I think most people would be happy to have one of those in the back of the MR2  It's not a widely recognised engine (as the responses on here have shown) and I only suspected what it was because I have a Lampredi Twin Cam in my Lancia Montecarlo and the design is very similar. TBH though, no 3.2 n/a 12valve was ever going to produce 280bhp from the factory [-X So shame on whoever told him :^o
