Since I have had the car I have believed it was a none power steering mr2 as the steering has always been heavy. But today after doing some work on the car I have noticed the power steering pump witch was dry. I have put some fluid in but I'm guessing its dead!! What do you guys thing and what can I do to get back my power steering. Were is the fuse for the power steering
Thanks, Mathew.

There is a relay in the front fuse box that controls the power steering, it has a nasty habit of seizing occasionally. I can't remember which one it is unfortunately.
I asked God for a bike, but I know God doesn't work that way. So I stole a bike and asked for forgiveness.
common problem the relay can sometimes be fixed by flicking ignition on and off, happened to me twice in 3 years, could try relay fist as a cheap go, other than that might be a faulty pump.
she's all comming together nicely now after a fair bit of cash spent, not bad for just an n/a now for some body kit i think.
Cool I will give this a go. But I think its been so long since its been filled with fluid it could be broken. But saying that there is no noise from a broken pump. I will try flicking the ignition on and off.
Be nice to know where the relay is
Passenger side of the frunk. Got thick black and white cables going to it, it's not in the fusebox but is just next to it. If it was screwed then you would have a P/S warning light on your dashboard though so I guess the bulb's been removed for that

Yeah it's supposed to, but it's meant to stay on if there's something wrong (like if the relay doesn't start the pump). If the light's not coming on then the system thinks it's working properly! If it's been running dry then the rack is probably toast as well as the pump, which does lead to heavy steering, been there done that!

If it's a common after market steering wheel (Momo, Sparco etc) then the Momo boss will fit and works perfectly.
Mind you, that's for a rev3 as I have, I suspect the Rev1/2 one should be just as good...

It's the MC7714 that you'll need
My p/s light came on on Thurs. Thought it was low on fluid, so went to top it up but the level was fine and also the fluid is gold in color and not your normal red!?!? Drove it home with the light still on and pumped arms. Next day it was fine, so maybe I've got a relay on the way out. Will pop down to my local breakers and get one just in case.
tbh if my pump goes (the relay has been playing up in cold weather - maybe didn't come on 2-3 times) i wont be replacing it probably. No power steering is ok.
Does it hurt the steering rack if your pump is dead/not working yet you continue driving?
can it be removed easily?
