Cheap mate but dont do it if it`s the only car you are driving. I just had a nightmare trying to find a company that would insure me after coming off a classic policy.

Basically if you stay on it for 2 years or more, any prior NCB built up becomes invalid. Luckily I explained to my new insurer that I had been fully comp for the last six years, and proved it that I had no accidents in that time, and they did it for me. I had to ring A LOT of insurers to find someone who would let me keep my 6 years NCB.

If you have another vehicle that you are building no claims on then go for it, but if not I would not bother.

I have my Mk1 on classic insurance but it is my second car and my daily drive has my full no claims on it. It is a condition of the classic insurance that I own and insure another car as my daily drive.

The MR2 is £230 I think but that includes Full European Break down as well.

I use heritage and pay around £350 quid for a rev 2 turbo, lowered suspension, modified exhaust etc. It includes guaranteed value, I have not used any no claims but its restricted to 3000 miles per year as it is a second car and I have my no claims on my main car. It does include european cover also.

Adrian Flux. Have heard some bad reviews but have nothing to complain about myself. I think every Company has had some bad feedback anyway.

Not had to claim though and it is claims that normally show any gaps in customer service methinks.

Performance Direct, costs about £280 iirc, 2000 mile limit, it's a 2nd car so no worries there, and uses/accrues no NCB.

cool thanks for that, will be looking for a deal in April, my friend just got his Escort RS cosworth insured for £198 fully comp on limited to 5000 miles and no comuting, also no use of NC either, thought that was very cheap as he's only 28, hoping to get my n/a for under £200...

Exactly how do you go for classic insurance on the MR2.? I've looked at this each year but as son as you declare a mod (such as wheels -for starters) then it's all off. In my experience mileage isn't a problem but if you declare absolutely anything other than pure factory spec then you're out.
