The Mk2 brackets are square dog legs and won't fit the Mk1 chassis, so Mk1 front brackets work.

By far the best option is to use the "no bullsh1t" mounts made by Adamh over on TB, we invented the Mk2 turbo ARB mod on the Mk1 but Adams mounts just finish it off prefectly. You weld one half of the casing to the chassis and the other half bolts to that, properly over engineered works of art.

Ok, just wanted to clarify some points if i use Adamh's custom brackets to hold the Mk2 18mm rear ARB.....

1) Will Adamh's custom brackets come with the right poly bushes?

2) If they dont come with the right poly bushes, which poly bushes can I use - will the universal powerflex bushes I mentioned in the above post fit without modifications ( PF99-305 32mm 18mm 22mm 30mm )?

3) Do I need to change anything else on the car once the above upgrade is fitted - eg will I have do replace the original Mk1b drop links?

Thanks

Your best bet would be to contact Adamh directly as he is the supplier of the parts :thumleft:

This isnt stealing anyones design, but what are the hole centres on the rear arb bracket mountings?

I just want to know because I have to take my whole exhaust off to take the arb off which is a pain saking exercise.

No disrespect to the creator as they do their job, bit chunky though arent they?

That's the whole point, the stock mounts rot away and flex about/snap off etc... these "no bull" mounts are a very well engineered solution that cures the problem forever.

No reason they couldn't be used on the front with the correct diameter bush.

I'm going to make my brackets from stainless, but not a block like that.

I can assure you there is no better design for holding the ARB solidly to stop it flexing around and prematurely wearing out the bushes than Adams mounts, they are superb.

Would you happen to know the hole centres for the back arb? :)

I now have a 19mm mk2 roll bar.

Can anyone tell me if the ends of the bar is different than that of the 18mm?

I ordered my bushes and they came through today only to find that the ends of the bar are flat, a larger diameter than the hole, stupidly I tried to push it through and its snapped my bush in half!

That's a joke right?

In case it isn't and you've had a real brain fade moment, the bushes have a split in them so you can fit them onto the bar.

Yes I had a brain fade moment and realised that the other bush is split in exactly the same place lol

My bad!

ive just fitted a turbo arb on my mk1b i my car is lowered and ive only used the front arb mounts and not the ones that are in this link, im also only using the standard drop links.

turning in is alot better now but ive got a problem with it because when i turn it seems to creak around. do i need to change something els to stop this happening? what could be making it creak?

Obvious answer is that you havent greased the new bushes enough?
