Didn't really settle but it snowed today
Re: snow
Snow socks are pretty epic, back end would not move out of line, just push the front into understeer and drive is brilliant.
... although much more fun without them on!!
Easy to fit as well, i'll see how they hold up on the commute tomorrow!

Re: snow
I thought a major downside to the snow socks was that they are going to get ripped to shreds on cleared roads - so you basically only want them for snowy/icey bits, meaning you end up having to change them all the time?

Re: snow
45 cm on the east coast , never seen as much
Re: snow
loads of the stuff around gatwick.
made it across town last night but not without a lot of care.
budget 205 tyres and an lsd are great for drifting but a bad idea in snow.
take it steady and it's fine but there are still sideways movements just due to the camber of some of the roads.
it's the packed ice under the snow that's the roal problem, with no real way of knowing it's there.
drive safe people!

bloody snow
im driving the rev2 tubby in the snow its not difficult but its not easy...
i find pulling away just use clutch and no throttle and once the car has started moving use a tiny bit of throttle and be in the highest gear possible.
use throttle to move from a standstill and you will go sideways (well atleast you will in the icy side roads)
someone else already said it in this topic aswel use throttle coming onto main roads will send you side ways
take it nice and slow you give yourself extra time and you will be fine (im 23, 4 yrs driving license, 2 yrs experience with the tubby) so im no "pro" driver
Re: snow

I believe Pidge has an FTO
Here's a little video of parts of my journey home Tuesday night.
I did see a lot of cars sliding about, mine didn't in the same areas
Mine did struggle uphills, whereas the FWD cars breezed it
Mine could only do 25mph on the motorway, most other traffic was doing 35mph. I did try going a 30, but it felt very unstable.
