At 42" unless you sit 5 foot or less from the screen you wont see the difference between 1080p and 720p.

I brought the same TV for my parents and intend to buy one for the bedroom of my new place. They really do handle HD and SD very well.

Surely with a size of only 42" you wouldn't want to sit any further from the screen?

Not boasting at all, I used to have a 40" set before I got my current one and even sitting at 6ft away it was no good for gaming: I used to put a chair closer to the TV to see some of the finer details.

And no, I'm not blind either :oldtongue:

The optimum viewing on any screen is 3 times the size of the screen away from it.

eg. 50" screen = 150" away.

That, my good man, is utter b*llocks. :thumleft: ;)

If I sat 4.2m away from my telly, it would look impossibly small and that takes away the whole point of buying a big telly in the first place. The optimum distance is whatever an individual feels comfortable with.

Neither's mine, I'd have to have the TV at the bottom of the garden while I sat in the kitchen!

Right... so having looked on the net, the hut.com are saying they can deliver it for the 24th.

I got a £50 voucher for sainsburys which i havnt used yet so will probably buy it from there so not too fussed about the price as it aint like im going to go to find one close to me to spend the remaining few quid on something.

Looking forward to seeing how this game turns out. I have my resevations as already aired but will be buying it none the less!

This is a cracking TV for the price and will be suitably great for GT5:

You would be crazy to pick that LG over the Panasonic Plasma at the same price, i'd even pay more for the panasonic.

6gb and 40mins.

Or you can just let it install as you progress in the game

Not from what I read on the net and have been told by some tv spec geeks its not! My Pani 50" plasma definitely looks best 1080p at exactly 150 inchs away. Gives games and films a '3D' look. Move closer and further away and the effect disappears. :eye:
