Can anybody on here make brackets for a Chargecooler radiator? - Spoke to Fusion

I could really do with finding someone who can as I don't have the facilities!

Which radiator are you using? ST205, Cinquicento, etc?

Cinquecento. My front bumper may be coming off in the next month so it seems like the best time to crack on with it.

I made my brackets by buying some strip steel from B&Q and bending it with a blowtorch (also from B&Q). There's even a diagram with measurements in my chargecooler thread, although I'd do them slightly differently 2nd time around.

Yeah I've read that a couple of times. You mentioned making a part slightly longer. How would the extra length help? Would the rad still be secure?

The problem I have, is that I don't have a vice to hold the metal in when heating/bending it. I had a blow torch somewhere but haven't seen the bloody thing in years, so will have to replace it if I attempt this myself.

The rad is still secure 2+ years on - the extra length on one straight was to remove some 'spring' from the bracket once it was attached to the car. At the moment it's permanently under tension.

Cool. Obviously, if nobody volunteers to make me a set, I'll have to have a go at it. It's just going to be really hard with no vice. It's a real ball ache just thinking about it!

I remember Marf got Ed @ Fusion Motorsport to make a set of brackets:

Maybe we could persuade him to make some more! Much better than mine:

Well I'd certainly buy a set if he fancies making any.

OK, having spoken to Fusion this morning, I can confirm that they'd be happy to make some of these up. I think we're going to need a group buy of 5 orders minimum though.

He said they'd come in at £40 a pair. I'd have liked them a little bit cheaper, but they seem like quality kit, so I can handle that.

The only snag is he needs an MR2 to measure up on, as he didn't retaint he dimensions. He may be able to sort this, but if not it's going to need a volunteer!

Who else would be interested in a set at £40?

LOL! I got the same msg from Ed last night, suggesting that perhaps you could pop back down to get them measured up ;)
