N/A Mr2

Post by adam_ep82 »

This is my second mr2. Been so happy with it so far. Picked her up on the 4th of september, Only to realise that the gearbox was leaking

It turned out to be gearbox shaft seals so ordered two from toyota and got them done one evening never to leak again!

Since that its been preety trouble free i ditched the horrible white aerial and was happy with it up untill friday night when my exhaust decided to sheer off from the cat. It was bad timing on the run up to christmas!

Anyway i bit the bullet and purchased a mongoose backbox and decat and had them fitted monday. plans are coilovers (teins preferably) and some advans 8" fronts and 9" rears. Once thats done i will save towards a 3sgte conversion.

Anyway heres a picture of it the day i bought it. Scoop was my own from previous mr2 which i installed the minute i got home. ill get some more pics of it once its clean :)

Very nice looking motor mate! I've had 3 mk2 mr2's now, love em! Even though i am 6ft 5" and 19st

I'm afraid i'm with you (the owner) on the toms style scoop, i love the look of them, it's each to their own though, i like the car just as much without it, it's about the fun they are to drive after all!

I'll be looking for another tidy black mk2 n/a when my legs are fixed! Probably will keep it fairly basic though, alloys, full exhaust system and induction kit, maybe get it mapped etc... Nothing too costly.

Looks great anyway, enjoy it! :thumleft:

Sounds like a plan to me! Yes, it's deffinately on the cards, i won't probably be back on the raod till around late April 2011 but i'm only in Shropshire so it's well worth a good look, i know there are some incredible roads through north wales but the police hate bikers up there and so we were forever getting pulled over!

Probably enjoy it more in the 2!

Cheers for the info anyway fella :)

small update finally got round to swapping out the sony unit that was in the car with my beloved alpine that ive had for 5 years!

i removed the stereo to find this wiring which i wasnt happy about, i was going to strip the wires back and join them to the orginals and use the active harness lead ive got, however im not sure what state the standard system is in and there are fresh speaker cables plumbed in so the old ones might not even work. the sony unit that was in worked fine so i just soldered on a iso plug for now just incase i decide to take my alpine back out.

Also my summer wheels are here they need to be sent off for a refurb and im still in two minds where to send them too, any ideas?

please excuse the poor pictures
