i have used 5mm thick steel to make the custom mounts, these bolt into the factory locations and my side mounts on top of these, i can tell you there in NO flex in this before fitting i stood on the brackets (12 stone) then the otherhalfs dad (more than me) and again no flex,

12mm is alot of material you could fit you will be sitting to high.

nah you will be fine mate, like i say worst outcome is that you 'could' find yourself sat a bit high. i have to drill 4 new hole (2 either side) into my side mounts so i can sit the seat lower, as i would fit with a helment on too ..

you will have a seat that wont move mind haha :D

Hope so :D

These seats might only be temporary, so if it's too high, I'm not too worried.

not sure mate, i thought you were using this 12 x 25 to go between the std mount points so one either side of each seat, then weld some more across them to mount the actual seat to, i tried that on both these seats i have now and the others that i sold and found both sat too high so i ditched the std runners, the beauty with my new seats is they are side mounted so i can drop them down by at least 2-3 inches

side mounts are the best option for a seat, they are 'easier' to fit in the long run

true, my other way to get mine in was to bolt the side mounts directly through the floor just behind the cross member, perfect leg length for me, however as the floor isnt flat id have to grind the std rear seat mount points out and then theres no way of ever fitting std seats back in at a later date, unless i cut them out carefully so they could be rewelded back in

yup, on the side mounts they have about an inch to go down, which i dont think will be enough, so i might have to lose the sliders which will lower them another inch

you might want to get on to Rogue Mate,

they do custom mounts, like the ones i had made up, they are for side mounted seats but the mounts has a succession of holes drilled into them so rather than having a slide fuction you have to bolt them into the mounts but it offers some adjustability

the mounts i have have lots of holes in the bottom for a multi adjustment feature, i would of preferred the sliders, ill see how it goes, but i might end up removing the sliders and just bolting the side mounts to the custom ally brackets i made, the passenger seat will not have sliders
