why cant you get the front fog from a scrapyard , it is easiler that way,

and are you sure it is the switch that is broken ? not something else like fuse or relay

Ihave new problem. when the car starts up there is a lot of condensation build up inside the car windows and i was worried if the head gasket might be on its wasy out. when i put the auto air vents to re-circulate this happens and when i put it on to direct airflow it dosent build condensation.. also the car heats up very quickly and the air fron heaters is very hot.!!. even when i turn the heat down to the coldest settin the air is still warm.. not as warm but not cold either! is the head gasket on the way out? or somthing else? how do i protect it?

recirc = condensation so use the fresh air setting all the time. If you have a t-bar then it's likely leaking hence the condensation issues. Mine did this til I fixed it but it's an ongoing issue. How is the engine temp, if it's steady then I believe the gasket is ok but you'd be best posting that question in the mechanical section :thumleft: .

Just asking if you have air con (hence the "auto" question), in any Toyota I've had with air con (most others in fact) condensation is quite bad unless air con is switched on and never use re-circ, I never figured out why properly, might not be related though. How quick does your car warm-up? Give us some clues with minutes or miles driven. Agree with Alan though better placed in mechanical.

Have you checked out price for a new switch from Toyota if you think it's that -surprising how many folk look for parts without checking stealership first, it's definately easier, sometimes not expensive otherwise post up a wanted ad -think I gave my switch away years ago. Front fogs are pointless in my oppinion.
