- rattling on startup, then above 2800rpm, smoke accompanying at both points - not nice! Need another motor, I reckon...Anyone out there
(in East Anglia-ish) able to do an engine rip-out/swap for me? I'm able to muck in, but cannot do it on my drive (no experience/lifting gear). I started to lift the induction kit off yesterday to try to remove the head for a look-see, but I had to admit defeat and re-assemble it while I could still remember where it all went back! 
I'm getting too old for this alfresco spannering lark...Dilemma:- need a good replacement 3S-GE N/A engine and someone who knows what he/she's doing
(might even consider a V6 conversion, if reasonable price! 
). Can do a cash deal, or part-payment of a mechanically-sound early Mk1A, or whatever - all I need is the job done - I don't care how! Insurance/tax ticking away here
