[Mk2] [NA] noisy window motor

Post by fen666 »

Hi... after replacing a burnt out drivers electric window motor when ever I let the window go all the way down, every once and a while when driving their is a strange screeching noise from inside the door panel. If I raise the window approx 1/4" so the glass is just visible above the window seal the noise stops ? any ideas anyone ?

I thought that once the window is fully down .... it switches off until the up button is pressed ? ........ cheers

If the original motor was burnt out then there is usually a reason why it burnt out in the first place

Sounds like a sticky relay/regulator issue, there is a small electric windows relay/regulator mounted some where that shuts power to the electric windows when they fully close or open, it sounds like it’s not working and keeping the power on all the times after the window open or close using the 1 click method.

When you open the window press the button all the way until the window goes down by it’s self " 1 click method!, when the window is down you should here a relay click, if you don’t here that then you need to get it sorted for you burn out another motor
