hi could anyone tell me what boost i can run on the rev3 just got the car back today having had the clutch n cambelt done. mods decat exhaust filter uprated side mount intercooler boost controller. is 17/18psi safe?
thec ar will certainly run it ok but like everything else you are raising the boost way above std so things can go pop for no real reason. I'm running 17/18 on std intercooler and it's ok but track use would kill it quickly
thx not gonna be on track.just for the road.but obviously dont wanna blow my engine up lol.just would like to know if its gonna be safe?and when does the fuel cut kick it as ive had it boosting to 18psi
well plenty of folks run their rev3+ at 18ish psi but have a look through the board and you'll see that the engine doesn't always hold together. Personally I always warm the engine up to full water temp and even then hold back a bit before thrashing it ( easy enough as it takes a while for me to get to good roads) and let it cool down off boost driving before shutting it down. Use good oil and change it frequently. End of the day, if you raise the boost you accept whatever happens. If in doubt, keep it std
I think boost cut is around 18 point something but I try and keep the ebc below 18 anyway. Boost cut while overtaking is not something I want to experience!
