Post by sam1176uk »

Hello folks, new mk3 owner after years of owning mk2 na's, and i have to say i'm delighted with it :D
Been on here for a few years now but hello again anyway!

Picked it up last Saturday and it has the following mods:

Dastek powerplug
AEM v1 long arm induction kit
PPE Engineering racing Exhaust manifold, downpipe and backbox
ngk iridium spark plugs

D2 Fully adjustable coilovers (with camber adjustment)
TRD Front and Rear Strut Braces
TRD member brace kit
Whiteline adjustable anti-roll bars (front and rear)

Tarox Racing disks
Mintex racing pads
goodridge hoses
brake fluid recently replaced

Rota subzero lightweight wheels
ultralight wheel nuts

No major plans to upgrade further but it always starts like that i suppose! Going to clay bar/polish etc in a week or so.
Painted the calipers today, may look to change the steering wheel for a smaller one to make room for my legs!!
May change the wheels at some point as well, see what comes up.

Nice to meet you all anyway and any Scottish members give me a shout :)

Looks good.. the black wheels certainly suit it.. how does it compare to your old Mk2s out of interest?
If you can't see the angle, you're in trouble.

Much lighter and more responsive than the MK2, would certainly be quicker on a B road. The MK2 felt like it had more power from maybe 80mph upwards though?
I had been swithering for ages about a mk3 but now that i've driven it i cant see me ever going back, obviously the lack of storage space isnt ideal as well but it's tremendous fun to drive!
