[Mk2] [Turbo] rocker cover gasket

Post by woods967 »

Hi guys
I have a oil leak from the rocker cover,
I recieved rhetorically replacements, now last time I changed a rocker gasket, was when i was 15 and it was on a mk3 fiesta, with a cork gasket.
So do i have to rub some oil round it. Also it came with two gaskets a big one with holes for the cylinders and a smaller one, does anyone know were that one goes before I try to attempt it.

Cheers Sam

Also its a rev 1 turbo. Cheers

A big one with holes for the cylinders??? You defo on about the cam cover gasket and not head gasket?

I dont know what the rev1 cam cover is like but the rev 3 is a 2 piece, the small piece goes between spark plugs 2 & 3 on the bottom of the cam cover. Dont smear any grease around, but you will prob need some instant gasket sealant for the corners and cam end caps as they always leak there.

Ah does the gasket not stop leakage without sealant?
