MK1 - what's it worth?

Post by Tiamat »

Standard 4AGE with 219K on it.
Custom made powerflow exhaust
JR air filter
Magnecor lead
Overhauled suspension, including shocks and springs
Will have rear aches done and damaged front wing replaced
Has black roof
Custom cam covers
JVC stereo with 12 cd changer
MK1 a seats
MK1 a side vent
Black / Blue interior mix

Will come with supercharger rear lights, spare headlights, spare relays, driveshaft, spare standard rear lights, clear spoiler, spare rear spoiler, and other items ripped off other cars.

MOT until mid-January

Any thoughts on what its worth?

Will try and sort pics but most people know the car anyway.

Trying to gauge if I can afford a replacement toy.

Itd be interesting to see what people think as mine is in similar condition, with same mods.

If you get the arches done, engine mileage isnt really an issue for some people, £800-1000? If its sparkly :)

£800- £1K. Damn, had hoped for more, been a long time since I bought a MK1 (over 7 years) had hoped with it restored properly it'd be worth more.

Looks like no new toy then :(

With it fully restored it will be worth more than that.

Malc, mine sold for 1200 back in January, a bit scruffy around the edges but essentially sound. I haven't seen your car for a little while but say 12-1500 if you hold out.

Mine took about 4 weeks to sell, but the first person to actually come and see it bought it on the spot. Just don't stick it on an eBay auction as there aren't enough people looking for Mk1s at any one time to push the bids up enough. I had an equal number of responses from Pistonheads and Autotrader.

Well 1200 - 1500 seems better.
Will have a look once the resto work done, but will be tight to get the deal.

Unfortunately what ever you pay for a professional refurb is never going to be recouped in sale price.
If you can't see the angle, you're in trouble.

Its being done for free, done work for the guy and he is paying for it by restoing the car, so nothing out of my pocket.

Tempting, but too many wheels for what I have in mind!

i can keep 6 of the wheels it would come with and chuck a bit of weight in the boot so you can wheelie every where if it helps ;)
