[Mk2] [NA] Aerial problems and wiring, need help.

Post by sangyboymr2 »

Ok, so the original leccy aerial is broke due to the previous owner taking it thru the car wash with it fully up!
I have bought a replacement non standard one from ebay that will fit toyota mr2's up to 1999. Mine being a K plate fits that description.
I've removed the old one fine following an online guide. Trying to get the new one in is the problem. It's not exactly the same as the standard part, a little smaller with only 3 wires and the aerial co-axail. The latter fits fine!
The orig part has a wire block containing 6 wires which did just plug in. New part has 3 wires. A black earth. A red and a blue with no connectors.
So i can bolt it in fin but the wirings got me.
Any help will be gratefully recieved.

The wire colours going into the original block are black/white, red, blue/pink, green/black, black/yellow, grey.

I know it's for a MK1 so the wire colours aren't right, but from this guide with a multimeter you should be able to work out what wires are what and go from there.
