Problem with reversing lights, please help

Guys ive got a little problem, my mot is due tomorrow and ive got no reversing lights. Everything else is fine, ive checked the fuses and the logical things but now ive given up.

Any ideas

You dont need reversing lights for the MOT

(IM 99% sure anyway)

Just been through this and in the UK Reversing Lights are not a legal requirement so you will be okay on the MOT, unless you get a right T*$T who will argue till he's blue in the face :-)

I think the deal is that if your car has provision for reverse lights and they don't work, it will fail.

If the car has no reverse lights at all.....no provision

i.e Rev 3 lights and a blank panel with no lamps in it, it will pass

Probably the switch on the gearbox is knackered. Can't remember the exact location of the switch, might be worth asking the garage to take a quick look (after he's issued your certificate!)

remember that the reversing lights dont work when the engine is off, engine needs to be on. (on mine anyway)
