I for one had a great time!

Arrived around 5.30pm on the Friday night, put the tent up and got totally smashed. (1 crate of stella and a bottle of Tequilla between my brother and I)

Apologies for not attempting to meet many people, but I felt so ill on the Saturday morning.... :pale: Mark Edwards was camped behind my tent, and put me to shame by being up at 6.30ish washing and polishing his car. That man's enthusiasm makes me sick

Saturday was great. Saw some unbelievable MR2's. Bry's was a show winner for me. If only I could get my engine bay that clean...

The V6 install was incredible. Would have loved to chat about what it took to shoe-horn that thing into there

Over all, I think it could have been a little better if there had been some more organised events, but what the hell, it was the first time at this venue. Next year will no doubt be a load better.

Well done to everyone who braved the Sunday afternoon weather. I scarpered at 11.30ish.

Look forward to seeing, and talking to you all at TOTB next weekend.

Thanks guys 'n' gals,

EarL.

Was that the one with the massive rear wheels and jacked up at the back?

that can only have been a drag car it would never get round a track like that. Even if it could with no exhaust there would be bob hope and no hope of getting that out of the pitlane before killing yourself on the first bend. ;)

That was the one, It was definately setup like a drag car, but I figured they may have a couple of setups for it. Maybe not, or maybe they fit an exhaust when its taken on a track. Either way it was a beast. I didn't see the final results on the dyno but one guy told me it was 680 at the wheels. scary!

that would be the potential figures...

Less than 400 on the day - but thanks in part to misfires, splitting fuel hose and spark plugs that had, to put it bluntly, had it.

And yes its a drag car, from the PP stable.

I should maybe have made efforts to mingle but I didn't know who anybody was, I recognised a few cars (Bry's, Mark Edwards but didn't know who they were :( , sorry I didn't meet you guys. The only people I knew where the ones we travelled down with. IMOC was had a big stand but it was full of small groups. We did have an exellent weekend, some of the cars on display were out of this world and th mk1 owners club were very friendly.

Sorry if this offends anyone but I was disappointed I couldn't put names and faces to people I had spoken to online.

Maybe a meet and greet would be a good idea next year with a time that people will know when to be on the stand perhaps it would feel more like a club for everyone that is a member of the site. Just a suggestion

Please don't think i am having a go at you but although i was on the mk1 stand, sometimes you have to put yourself out a bit and mingle !
When there are so many cars and members,it is very difficult for them to come over and chat to you.Their time is taken up ,with each person chatting about their own car.
The way to do it is be brave and try to get involved!

I am sure lessons will be learnt and next year will be better! :D

Hopefully all the constructive comments will be taken on board (oh my god, I think I am talking like a moderator (I'm not and would never volunteer to be - it's a thankless task))

I for one had a good time, it was only tempered slightly by the negative comments posted today.

I didn't go... but one thing that seems to be common on all of these threads, is a lot of people didn't recognise lot of other faces.

I'd suggest for future events, people sign up at the IMOC/MR2OC/DC/Twobrutal* stand and get a sticker and write their online name and real name on. Sound like a plan?

*Yep... it is official, next year the UK mk1.5 builders/owners/nutters will have their own stand

More segregation... just what the MR2 scene needs

It should be one big MR2 village to put the Subaru lot to shame IMO.

Agreed, but at least ours don't sound like they're always running on 3 cylinders. :P
I think the idea was there this year but we still seemed to be spaced out from each other a fair bit.

Also agree with you on that one - I was thinking that next year, we shouldn't seperate out the mks between areas like this year, we should intermingle them as much as possible. Mk1 next to mk2, next to mk3, next to tubby, next to SC, next to... erm... v6 mk2... and so on. Get an idea of the evolution of the mr2, as well as helping make each individual car stand out (rather than just a big row of mk1s or a big row of mk2s)

Play to IMOCs strengths - the diversity of the members :)

exactly the reason http://twobrutal.co.uk was born..
the mk1.5 is an evolution of the mk1..a club for mk1s powered by a 3sgte or V6 only..keeping the 1.5s seperated from the mk1s is essential for people seeking specific swap information..so thpptttttt (blows raspberry)..!
