Bedford 1985

Post by JMR_AW11 »

I grew up in Bedford and someone has put a video on youtube of Bedford in 1985.

The same year my mum bought a black mk1a MR2.

Look at all those old sheds! I recognised a Vauxhall Viva at one point!

Can you imagine driving these streets in a shiny new black mk1a MR2?

I think this is why I got hooked on the MR2. It was an awesome sight in 1985 and no wonder the car turned heads and drew a crowd when parked.

PS
I always wanted a mint black mk1a but never found one that wasn't abused or rotting... :(

I need to read these posts more clearly before making judgement, at first I thought you said "you grew up in a 1985 bedford!" kind of new age hippy style #-o

LO

TA for postin this

I went to art college in Bedford from 1982 and moved here in 1987 so this brings back lots of memories

Found some clips of the Bear pub in the 80's too

Was my regular haunt during my goth stage 8)

Bedford hasn't changed much apart from changing some of the roads to pedestrian only then!! ;)

Has anyone ever run a thread on MK1 MR2s appearing in films?

I've seen a few, the ones that spring to mind are a red one in 'Something About Mary,' in a car park and a white one at the start of the gun battle scene in 'LA Takedown,' which for movie buffs was the TV version of Michael Mann's classic 'Heat.'
