Yes, Yes and Yes - it was still rubbish when ambient got anything over ~25 degrees.

Hi Neil
Been gonna ring you all day, but not sure if you can use your mobile in the work place???

Yeah, just call me - I can always make time for you mate :)

Would be interested to see what mine is up to then...

Dino supplied me with some Delco sensors, its amzing what really happens to your inlet temps when you can measure it properly!. Even previously with my Bosch sensor I thought I was getting a relatively acurate picture but the Delco's showed us just how much variation there is.

As Neil says, those Delco sensors have REALLY changed the way I look at data. They respond SO much quicker than the Bosch and Denso (ie stock sensors) that you can't even draw any direct comparisons, unless it's on constant boost for at least 20-25secs (that's how slow the Bosch and Denso sensors can be!).

NightSpirit, if I were you I wouldn't even consider what temps you're seeing on cruise, as all ICs will pretty much read OK, it's what happens on boost, and as I said above, it depends on what sensor you have as to how the comparison should be done.

nightSpirit wrote:T67 lag wise isn't bad at all..it comes in around 3000rpm ish? and takes about 1 second to build to full boost and then you're away. If you keep the revs about 3k it's pretty much full on boost.

Bloody hell, that's EXCELLENT! I thought it would be a LOT worse than that! Do you have any dyno plots to show what torque/boost curves were like? How much boost are you running?

I've always steered away from the Greddy/Trust Mitsi, as they're effectively hybrid Mitsubishi turbos and normally mismatched (hence why good spool, and good power for low boost), but they seem to be good turbos for the right situations.

I personally prefer the Garrett GTs, because I can get all the specs, and can even specify the exact spec I want. Also, with the dual ball bearing setup, they can seriously handle a lot of boost.

Having said that, I still show an interest in what others are trying.

Yeah, i thought i had the most potent rev1 til i learnt of yours. Was dying to have a word with you but sadly didn't get the opportunity.

As Dino said, we were expecting a good 40-50bhp more out of mine on thor's dyno, but the boost was tailing off above 6k, that and the old plugs put pay to my fun though unfortuneatly. New plugs went in the same day and thanks to Dino's wiring the avcr now recognises 7400rpm so i'm now getting to set the boost a bit better. Fingers crossed it'll be all sorted for totb.

I'm too broad shouldered. Hopefully it not going to be the case for all seats as a nice pair is on my shopping list at some stage.

It's out of his tubby so it might just be big enough for you old boy :P

On a serious note.........I think its a good idea to have a seat that keeps you located nice and tight for a days driving at TOTB. Over the 1/4 and the top speed run it's obviously of little benefit but over the handling course it's essential :D

Failing that, I'll have some duck tape with me on the day, so if anyone feels they're moving about too much, I can always strap them in nicely!!!
