Not to panic anyone but it appears I have a leaky headgasket amongst other last minute problems, Brian at Powerhouse has done an amazing job and has the engine stripped and is waiting to get the head back from the machine shop ready to re-fit.

I would like to take this opportunity to "big-up" both Brian at Powerhouse and Dino from MR2Mania, without whom I would definitely not be running at TOTB this year - any success I may or may not have is 100% down to those two guys.

head is back, cleaned polished and skimmed - apparently it had a 7 thou warp across the face which would explain a large number of odd problems we have seen over the last couple of days.

Well....got the clutch bled last night so i went for a 10.30pm test drive
The Tilton clutch is awsome, light as a feather, and the car actuly runs better than before, on the old map, very revy.
then after 35 miles on the motorway at 70 the power just dropped away
so i had to crawl home on the hard shoulder in 2nd gear.
Today i have checked evrything and all seems fine, but car still has no power, i have a lamda error and a air temp error, gonna get a new air temp sensor from MrT and see if that makes a differance.
Looks like JAE is out of it now as i am going to trailer the car to Frasers and let him have a butchers

Woke up this morning to find my cheque & the form Michael sent for me has been returned from Chris Mann saying they have been unable to allocate a place for me. I guess that this means I am no longer a reserve

I know that Toni & I will be there, but why would they send the form back?
Michael clearly wrote IMOC reserve on the form, & someone at that end in a different colour pen & writing had put reserve on it as well. The acompanying letter says they held on to my application as long as possible but no-one dropped out in time for me to be included. As I say to be a reserve I though I had up to the day for one of our team to drop out?

Unfortunately the corporate side of it all seems to have dictated the final date for entries to change - they need to get names and car info off to the DVD people, the timing company etc etc so a week or so before the event they decided that was it, anyone who drops out now is a lost place which is daft when there are people willing to step up on the day

It's always the case that one of the cars breaks on the way there or has a crash the week before (but not an IMOC car!!!! PLEASE!!!) so I'm shocked they can't adjust things right up until the start of the event.

Sorry Brook, I'll push for 10 places again next year and if we do OK this time and the Skylines and Scooby yawners are out of favour we might stand a chance of getting a full house
