New 2 Tubby to the fold

Post by MR-Deuce »

Hey everyone - this is my first MR2. I looked at turbo's a couple of years ago but couldn't find one I liked and ended up getting an S14a, which I had to sell when I moved to London. I've moved out of London now, to Bristol - first thing that came to mind when I applied for the job was - What car can I get!

Missed driving/been around the car scene more than I thought, so it's been nice driving around again/coming up with ideas for mods :)

Picked this up at the weekend, it's bone stock motor apart from a SSQV BOV + Turbo Timer. It has Sparco Racing alloys (not sure what type):

They go quite nicely as stock - sounds a bit quiet/anodyne to me though, so i'll try a filter (thinking ARC box or Apexi, from what i've read) first, then an exhaust.

Here's to a good long summer to play with it :thumb-up:

Nice looking motor there mate. :thumleft: would prefer it with some colour-coded strips/toblerones round the car and removal of the orange indicators...that said, I never got round to taking them off my tubby

You could probably pick yourself up a cheap second-hand Apexi induction kit and free-flowing exhaust in the part for sale section. There tend to be a lot of top quality items for sale.

Cheers bud :thumleft:

Being a newb...i've seen toblerone's mentioned a few times - are they the bits that house the sidelights at the front? - i'd like some clear ones of those ideally

Will be keeping my eye out for sure - When I was getting my insurance they said the policy would be 20quid cheaper if I had a zorst or filter, rather than stock - who am I to argue

Looks smart mate :thumleft: toblerones are the side indicators on imports Rev 1-3. UK cars just got the square side repeaters in the front wings.

Welcome to IMOC :)

Very nice Mr Deuce , another one in the steel mist grey club. I would deffinately get shut of the toblerones and put a nice exhaust on her. :thumleft:

This is what they look like without the nasty little indicators . .. .
