Xbox 360 Mk2

Post by matt_mr2t »

Tbh, I'm amazed it's taken MS this long to repackage it into something smaller and sexier.

http://www.techtree.com/India/News/Micr ... 0-585.html

No doubt the Sony fans will claim they've copied the original PS3, which isn't unfounded. Although I'm pretty sure Sony didn't invent gloss black.

And I hate to say it Mr Gates, but without a bluray player built in, the PS3, IMO is a better prospect to anyone looking to get in to gaming.

And that's from some one who prefers playing Xbox to PS3!

It really doesn't seem that much different to the original xbox other than being shiny

Well apparently it's much smaller, lighter, has a smaller power pack, built in HDD, 1 large quiet fan instead of 2 small loud ones, wifi connectivity, 5 USB's, the optical output is independent, touch sensitive buttons instead of mechanical. This is just an over view of changes.

There's not really any need to get a 360 if you have a PS3. On the other hand, I got a PS3 when I already had an Xbox because I wanted a bluray player.

Had they put that on the new Xbox I feel that it would be more than a match for the PS3 as an overall package. In fact, I'd flog the PS3 & the Xbox and just buy one of these saving me space and electricity.

THe whole point of the new console is to reduce cost and increase reliability.

They gave up on the Bluray game ages ago.

Gonna pick one up at the end of the month. Glad i waited to replace my old one. :thumleft:

Many games companies have said blu-ray games and the engine to run them cost to much to make them profitable. Besides The future of gaming isn`t on dvd or blu ray it`s downloading :thumleft:

What in the title of that thread has anything what so ever to do with a new console?

I dont care about the future, I care about now and I want a an Xbox that plays blurays lol.

Then I could flog the PS3 and current Xbox and have 1 console.

And before you say it, I'd rather an Xbox that plays Blurays and no PS3 than vice versa...

see that makes no sense.. the engine would not be affected by the fact it is as blu ray just stores the data the disc just has more data on it..

If they weren't profitable then they wouldn't still be making games for them?

and downloading really still isn't an option in the UK due to our rubbish infrastructure

Downloading is perfect feasible in the UK these days.

I can aquire a film in less than 10 minutes. Quicker than anyone can get to Blockbusters and back.

Fair point.

Thinking about it though, if i can get nearly a gb in 10 mins im pretty sure i could stream it in HD like they are provided on live.

But you'd be streaming full tilt for a much longer time and if everyone was doing that the servers would fall over or the deals for unlimited DL would disappear

They'd have to make downloads very, very cheap for me to buy in to the idea.

Id much rather have a physical copy of something.. if i spend £40 on a game and my hard disk fails.. i then have to purchase said game again. I know Blu ray disc don't last for ever but if looked after they last a long time..

You can also sell them on to buy new games. :thumleft:

You're also limited by the capacity of your hard drive where as a disc doesn't have that issue. I currently own about 20-25 games and about 12 BD's - I'd need a hell of a HDD to store all that.
