Pennine Run

Post by Goldy »

I'm planning on organising a pennine run, it'll be a 2 hour ish round trip Traveling from the sheffield area round towards macclesfield and back round towards sheffield, over the pennines in a large looop.

The planned map is shown below.

This route travels on 2 of the best driving roads in the country (snake pass and cat and fiddle). The views are stunning and its deffo worth a visit.

If you fancy this / want to make comments feel free. At the moment i'm trying to gauge intrest to whether or not to organise it.

The day will probably be a sunday, and the date probably late august.
I'll try and work out a meeting point and somewhere to eat along the way.

The approximate route is shown below:

Surely it'd be better to start on the posh side of the hills and go over to Sheffield and back again ??

I'd fancy it, but in case you care, its the Tatton Park classic and sportscar show on 20th/21st Aug, and the Gold Cup at Oulton Park on 28th.

I actually thought services on the M1 might be a good place to start as its easy to find, ample parking, and good road access!

I'll have a think about the route.... its probably going to change before then anyway.

Well football goes in cycles, & yes Bolton may have a better team just now. But can you beat:-

Old div 1 champions x 1
" " runners up x 2
FA cup winners x 4
" " runners up x 2

Highest attendance 68,287.

You have the current good fortune of a good manager & a board prepared to back him, enjoy it while it lasts

This is all good natured as I am sure you know, but Sheffield as a city is a class above Bolton mate, sorry
