looks alot better in the new pics :thumleft: first pics and wheels looked a bit pony.

Based on the updated pics i'd re-valuate it at 2K with the syncro needing replacing. (and the stone chips on the front bumper  )

Yeah so I guess if he had posted these pics in the first place, you wouldnt have told him £900 spares or repair?lol. Not being cantankerous, but just shows first impressions count hey if it changed your opinion that much.If a buyer sees a dirty car its an instant put off even if it`s mechanically sound. (Not that it looked that dirty but maybe blurry pics?) Switched the wheels aswell and they do look nice!

I could tell from the first set of pics it was a wash away from looking quite tidy.

Seriously mate, fix the problems, it'll make it so much more sellable and you'll get your money back in the additional money you can ask for the car.

Typical bull$h1t IMOC thread.

Finger, nice to see your car still out and about.

To be fair, there not worth much anymore. But I do agree with matt in the sense that all the mods added up and problems fixed with makeit worth a substantial ammount more.

Crip, stop bleating. Yet another annoying IMOC member who thinks they know it all. A car is worth as much is someone is willing to pay, he could put the car up for £8k and someone buy it, who knows? Just because you like buying cheap ones, doesnt mean every MR2 should be sub £2k and snapped up by your or your "mates".

Oh and i'm sure you've had more MR2's than me and Matt put together

Matt, i'm hoping you'll be pleased to hear your zircon blue MR2 is parked on my driveway, happy as larry and running strongly :)

Facts for what?

I've not tried to prove anything.

I simply suggested that fixing the issues will make it worth more. Which is true.

I also said that there not worth as much as they used to be, in fact they have taken a nose dive. Which is also true.

Those points need no "facts" to back them up.

My only real point is, a car is worth only as much as a buyer will pay for it.

I wouldn't sell my MR2 currently, it's worth much less in cash than it is to me. In fact i've sold broken ones for more than mine is probably worth today currently. Backing up the fact the car's as a whole have taken a nose dive.

Sometimes its pointless even asking how much our car's are worth as it always boils down to childish conversations where "i know it all" or "i've got better experience than you". Nothing against you Ross as I see your a regular poster, but Crip just grow up please. IMOC is here for people to share information and help out the other owner, not to have pointless conversations.

ive got my panel damaged one on piston heads at the min for £1500 i dont care if people think its over priced and there is others out there cheaper.

its what i want for the car simple as, just because i bought it cheap and was lucky enough to find some cheap parts doesnt effect what i think the value is.

and tbh am not totally sure id be happy with £1500 but its the price i deemed for my rev1 with a few upgrades,

your car on the other hand id proberly put it around £3.5k and see what interest you have

as others have said.. This is not ideal place to ask for a valuation.

Sadly people tend to want to pick apart other peoples cars..

I'm sure you would get 2k from the right buyer.

depending on how you wish to market the car. I would recommend

removing the spoiler replace with a standard one and get rid of the scoop fix all the issues put a propper tubby engine lid on there.

From my point of view i wouldn't even view unless all of the above had been completed.

Or you could put it on ebay..

Perfect Example: Second car down. Rev1 Turbo for 2k in great condition. Seller is a top bloke too. (if you haven't already got it this is my car).

Firstly i don't normally get involved in these "arguements" on who knows more . But as i am currently selling mine and owned 6 over the past 5 years.....

I agree that you can buy mr2 for cheap, this is mostly because the seller is desperate to sell or they feel that the work that needs doing brings down the price which (correct me if i am wrong) is Matt's point that if Finger does this work then he will get more $$. But this being said there is still a bargain to be had.

There is an arguement on the mods too. I personally feel that is down to finding the right person, some people want unmodified, i like the mods on this one for sale. Lambo doors not my preference but then if you want the car you can always change the doors. And not just post saying, hate everything about this car and mods arent worth FA!

Mine i have put back to MORE std to help it sell (some help that was). But most sellers cant be bothered hence they drop the price..

Also the prices have changed a lot over the years, i think best to sell it to someone on autotrader, from my experience they ask if there are 4 seats and complain there isnt enough storage space and used the lack of storage to knock the price down! (genuinely these have both been said when selling my mr2's and no i didn't sell them to either of these people).

Most importantly the car has cleaned up lovely and it is at a good price (in my opinion). Good luck with the sale, these cars are by far the best price per bhp or 0-60.

I hope I havent offended anyones opinions but if I have please think twice before feeling the need to rip my opinions apart!

Draven/Jason: NOT saying you guys are saying that BTW, you are saying constructive comments but other posts on other for sale topics you get people ripping them apart and it isn't useful.

i thought my comments were constructive given that i was the only person who actually presented facts on market prices rather than giving my opinion or guesstimating what it would be worth.

but i guess that just because i presented what actual market values were many people took that personally given that when it came to sell their cars they wouldnt get what they believed they were worth or what they had put into them

i guess the only thing left to do now is put it up for sale and see what it sells for rather than talking about it
